Make Father's Day Special with Food, Drinks in Arlington

It isn't really the gift that matters. It's the food, of course.

Father's Day is fast approaching, and whether you have wrapped yet another tie or pair of cufflinks, it isn't really the gift that matters. It's the food, of course!

Unlike Mother's Day, when it doesn't quite feel like summer yet and pretty much brunch or a meal out is the plan of action, for Father's Day, there are a couple of ways to go about it.

If your dad is the master of his grill this is not the time to take him away from his grilling lair. You can head over to the Bar B Que Barn and purchase some missing grill accessories or upgrade those old tools. You can stop by The Meat House for some pre-marinated steak. Or if dad has his own secret rub, then just get the perfect cut of meat and bring it home as is.

If dad would rather sit back and enjoy a cold brew while someone else mans (or "womans") the grill, then surprise dad with a chest full of cold beer. You can head over to Menotomy Beer and Wine. Let them know which beer dad usually drinks and ask for some similar microbrews to bring home, then dad can enjoy some of his old favorites and try something new as well.

If your father really just wants to get out of the house and go out for dinner, there's nothing wrong with that! You can catch one of Flora's last brunches of the season on Sunday. If you want to celebrate at Scutra, you'll have to do so a day early, as they are closed on Sundays. You can also slip into one of the last brunches of the season at Ristorante Olivio. Za is perfect for a casual but deliciously refined pizza, which goes so well with a good beer or glass of wine so dad, father in law and grandpa can all find something to suit their tastes.

So whether dad will be manning the grill, supervising with a beer, or pulling up to a table for brunch or dinner out, Arlington has some thing for everyone's dad.
