Nearly 950 Arlington homes are without power this Sunday afternoon as a result of last night's winter storm.
According to NSTAR, about 4.5 percent of the company's 20,983 customers in town fell victim to power outages that are affected more than 111,000 statewide.
The list of Arlington housesholds without power was upgraded from 560 this morning to nearly 950 by noon. According to the company, damage is still being assessed in Arlington.
Several residents have reported downed trees and wires around town. A Public Works dispatcher said the department is sifting through eight pages of damage reports.
"It's worse than Irene," he said, referencing the hurricane turned tropical storm that left some heavy damage in Arlington a few weeks ago.
