Former Town Counsel Appointed to Permanent Town Building Committee

See who the Board of Selectmen chose Monday to fill the vacancy left by the passing of longtime public servant William 'Bill' Shea.

John Maher, a local attorney who served as Arlington’s town counsel and director of labor relations for 35 years, until 2008, was appointed to the Permanent Town Building Committee Monday by the Board of Selectmen.

Maher, a Town Meeting member from Precinct 14 since 2008, received the board’s full endorsement in a unanimous vote.

Maher fills the vacancy left by the passing of longtime public servant William “Bill” Shea.
