Flu Clinic Today, Community Collection Day Saturday
The flu clinic is from 10 a.m. to noon today at the Senior Center.
Today is Wednesday, Nov. 14. Here are five things you need to know:
1.) From the town: Flu Clinic This Morning at the Senior Center: The Arlington Health Department will be providing seasonal flu and pneumonia vaccinations from 10 a.m. to noon today at the Senior Center, 27 Maple St. (ground floor). You must bring a copy of your insurance card with you to the clinic. Copies of the vaccination forms and the list of participating insurances can be found on arlingtonma.gov/health.
2.) From the town: Community Collection Day Saturday, Nov. 17: Saturday, Nov. 17, is Community Collection Day at the Arlington DPW Yard, 51 Grove St. The semi-annual drop-off event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine. Residents can drop off a variety of home items to be recycled, including CRTs ($10 per unit), bikes, books, confidential papers (first two boxes shredded for free), small electric items such as hair dryers and toasters (no large appliances, microwave disposal free this day only), clothing, old sneakers and more. Additional details will be provided at arlingtonma.gov/recycle.
3.) From the town: Bike Path Closures Friday, Nov. 16, and Monday, Nov. 19: Weather permitting sections of the Minuteman bike path will be closed between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday and Monday for paving repairs. The general locations for repairs are from the Lexington town line to Mill Street, from Linwood Street to Lake Street, and a small section by Alewife Station. Please observe “Do Not Enter” signs and seek alternative routes around these work areas during these times. All modes of travel (pedestrian, bicycles) will not be allowed in work areas.
