Five Things You Need to Know Today, Dec. 26

What's open and closed today, senior cribbage and a few more things to know this Monday.

 

1. Weather: Expect a mostly sunny morning, remaining overcast for the afternoon. High temperatures could reach 43, with an overnight low of 29.

2. Trash collection: There will be no trash or recycling collections on Monday, Dec. 26. There will be a one-day delay for the remainder of the week. For missed pick-ups, please call Waste Management directly at 1-800-545-4560.

3. Offices Closed: Town Hall administrative offices and Arlington Recreation will be closed today, Dec. 26. Veterans' Memorial Rink will be open with limited holiday hours today.

4. Senior cribbage: Every Monday, the Retired Men's Club of Arlington sponsors cribbage at St. Camillus Parish. Cost is $5.

5. This day in history: On Dec. 26, 1946, mobster Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel opens The Pink Flamingo Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas at a total cost of $6 million.
