Five Things: Public Service for Herb Reed Saturday

2. Herb Reed’s funeral will be held Saturday, June 16, at the Regent Theatre, according to Boston.com “The Names Blog.” The Platters’ singer, who had lived in Arlington, will be remembered by Rev. Dr. Regina Shearer, a one-time member of Reed’s Platters, and Terry Stewart, president of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, among others, the post states. The service will be open to the public. Reed died Monday, June 4, at age 83.
3. The Feast of the East is this Saturday, June 16, from 1 to 5 p.m. in East Arlington’s Capitol Square. Complete details.
4. Menotomy Rocks Park Field Day is this Sunday, June 17, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. There will be old-fashioned games, races, a scavenger hunt and more, including a sing-along with Hugh Hanley at 2:30 p.m. and a bike swap.
