Five Things: Last Night of Town Meeting?

Today is Wednesday, May 16. Here are five things you need to know.

1. There’s a chance of showers between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. today, according to the National Weather Service. Overall, it’ll be cloudy, with temperatures in the mid 70s.

2. With only 23 articles left to go (mostly routine appropriations and no action votes), Town Meeting could end tonight. And in case you were on another planet yesterday, Town Meeting did pass a seasonal ban on gas-powered leaf blowers Monday.

3. Comedian and Arlington High grad Dane Cook recently had his pilot, “Next Caller,” picked up by NBC for six episodes. See a couple clips from the show, which is “coming soon,” according to the network.

4. What is the best grocery/convenience store in Arlington? So far, D'Agostino's and Trader Joe's have received the most votes in our latest Best of Patch Readers’ Choice contest. We also want to know why you prefer one to the other, so please leave a comment on the contest page or a review on one of the store’s directory listings (linked to above).

5. Sports:

AHS girls’ tennis @ Woburn, 3:30 p.m.
AHS softball @ Reading, 3:45 p.m.
AHS boys’ volleyball vs. Lincoln-Sudbury, 3:45 p.m.
