East Arlington Coffee Shop Moving, Expanding

The transition is expected to be completed sometime this month.

Barismo, the tiny East Arlington coffee shop known for its high-quality brews, is moving two doors down to a bigger location, according to its blog.

The shop’s new spot at 171 Massachusetts Ave. is just a laundromat away from its current digs (169 Massachusetts Ave.) and will be large enough to handle seating, according to the post.

The transition is expected to be completed sometime this month.

Barismo has been looking to expand for a few years, and this opportunity seemed like the “perfect solution to years of cramped growth in [the] current space,” according to the post.

The new space will be divided into two sections: a roasting section and a small coffee bar – with seating and some sweets.

Read more details on the move on Barismo’s blog.

I panicked when I saw the "for rent" sign on their current location, so am extremely pleased to see them staying and growing in Arlington!

When is the new gluten free bakery opening? I am so excited to have a GF bakery to go to. Now I won't have to be jealous when all my non-GF friends head over to Quebrada. I can just walk a few stores away and get my own treat :) it can't come quick enough.

Hi Dawn,

I'll have a full story on the new gluten free bakery Monday morning, but the short answer is Dec. 1 (at least that's the goal).

Best,
John
