Earth Day: How to Make Arlington a Better Place
How are you looking to clean up the planet this Friday for Earth Day?
For fans at Fenway Park this Patriots Day or those taking in the Boston Marathon, it was a great day to be outdoors.
With an eye on preserving the outdoors for generations to come, Earth Day encourages residents each year to think of ways to be more environmentally friendly.
This week, we're looking for great ideas on how to clean up the environment for Earth Day, which falls on Friday, April 22.
Provide your answers either by commenting in the section below or by emailing GregA@patch.com. We’ll tabulate the answers and present them here in Patch Picks on Thursday.

start a campaign to get local take out restaurants to stop giving plastic-wear, napkins, chopsticks, etc as a default. they should ask if you want some but don't just put it in for all customers as most probably eat at home. it will also save the restaurants lots of money. i collect mine and bring them back but no matter how many times i ask not to put any in the bag i still receive them!

I'll pick up some trash along the Mystic River. The DCR doesn't do a great job with that area. Also there is a part near lower Mystic Lake that is just a dumping ground which is pretty depressing. Any chance the town would sponsor a dumpster and cleanup for that?
