Copper, Tools Reported Stolen from Thompson School Site
Copper wiring also went missing from a Pleasant Street construction site the previous week.
Police responded to the new Thompson School construction site at about 7:30 a.m. Friday to investigate a recent larceny.
Once there, police heard from the project’s superintendent, who said that someone had stolen roughly $500 worth of copper fittings, wires and various tools sometime during the previous night.
The previous Friday, Oct. 12, approximately $1,100 worth of copper wiring was reported stolen from a Pleasant Street construction site.
At Thompson, the project’s superintendent told police that the site was entered through the gate on Everett Street.
Police were planning to review surveillance footage of the site, and the project’s superintendent said that his company would be installing more cameras at the site.

Any construction site manager who leaves copper or tools vulnerable to theft should be held personally responsible for the loss. How many reports in the papers must we read of copper (especially) being stolen before it is secured on unsupervised sites?

Shouldn't they be using pex tubing in this kind of application?
its just more scum coming into this town to steal for drugs.
many homeowners in Maine are already ahead of us by pulling copper out of their houses or camps and replacing with pex. don't give the opportunity to scum to be able to buy their bath salts, oxycontin,etc.
