Brigham's Seized by State
The Arlington Heights restaurant has been seized for "nonpayment of taxes."
The Brigham’s restaurant at 1328 Massachusetts Ave. has been seized by the state for “nonpayment of taxes,” according to a bright orange notice in the restaurant’s front door Tuesday evening.
The Brigham’s, one of the few, if not the only, one left in the state, has been a fixture at the corner of Massachusetts and Park avenues in Arlington Heights.
The notice reads:
“The business property of Brigham’s of Belmont/Brigham’s Ice Cream has been seized for nonpayment of taxes, and is now in possession of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Any person who attempts to tamper or interfere with this property will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
It’s signed, “Massachusetts Department of Revenue.”
Check back with Arlington Patch for updates as they become available.

So happy to hear the owners were pocketing the food taxes we all paid..GREAT! Mom and pop stores are closing left and right. That's why I like Arlington..local BUSINESSES. I hope they never open a fast food chain in town

Maybe we'll see Deval flipping burgers for us. It is a job for which he is well qualified.
