Arlington Catholic Girls' Hockey in Quarterfinals Action Tonight

Today is Wednesday, March 6. Here are five things you need to know:
1.) The seventh-seeded Arlington Catholic girls’ hockey team (15-4-2) will be in quarterfinal action tonight against No. 2 Beverly/Danvers (17-2-2) in the Division 1 state tournament. The game is at 8 p.m. at O’Brien Rink in Woburn (55 Locust St., adjacent to Joyce Middle School).
2.) Work will begin today on one of Arlington’s most dangerous intersections. Read more.
3.) After some rain showers today and temperatures in the low 40s, Arlington is under a winter storm watch from tonight until Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service. About 8-10 inches of heavy wet snow is expected to fall in that time.
4.) Helene Newberg, a longtime Arlington resident, is running the 117th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15, in memory of her friend’s late daughter, Shaira Ali. Read more.
5.) The Teen Advisory Group will meet from 4-5 p.m. today at Robbins Library. The group shares ideas, helps plan programs, recommends materials and more. Attendees will receive community service hours and those who register will be guaranteed pizza at the meeting.
