Senior League Action
White Sox 14, Indians 11
The final score seemed more like a Patriots score than a baseball score, as the Rogers and Hutchins Funeral Home White Sox came out on top 14-11 over the ABA Indians.
After falling behind quickly, the White Sox made a pitching change and brought in Chip Daley to pitch four innings and get the win. Sam Jennings took over for the final two to pick up the save. He struck out two of the last three batters he faced.
Brian Canniff led the hitting with two long doubles. Clark Ewen and Jennings also got two hits apiece. Other hits came off the bats of Daley (a double), John Smokovich and Matt Laurendeau. The win moved the White Sox into a tie for second with the Indians. Both teams are 5-3.
Giants 8, Cardinals 2
In other action the D’Agostino’s Deli Giants defeated the Touchdown Club Cardinals 8-2. Nick Carvello and Elias Sachs worked on the mound for the Giants, while Matt Wesoloski and Brendan Griffin worked on the hill for the Cardinals.
