UPDATE: Annie LaCourt Arraignment Postponed

LaCourt was expected to go before a Cambridge District Court judge.

Update 11:40 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 4

Due to a defense council conflict, the Annie LaCourt and Mark Burstein arraignments have been rescheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 18, according to Middlesex District Attorney spokeswoman Stephanie Chelf Guyotte.

-----

Former Arlington selectman Annie LaCourt is scheduled to be arraigned today in Cambridge District Court, according to Middlesex District Attorney spokeswoman Stephanie Chelf Guyotte.

LaCourt and her husband, Mark Burstein, are each facing 33 counts of furnishing alcohol to a person under 21 and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The couple was allegedly caught the night of Friday, Oct. 19, having another underage drinking party at their Chatham Street residence, while they were home. Police said they found 33 teenagers at the house, 21 of whom were allegedly intoxicated. Most of them were 17, police said.

The couple’s lawyer, Tom Brant, told Boston.com in mid-November that “they look forward to fighting the charges and expect the case to look much different when all of the facts come out.”

Today’s arraignments in Cambridge District Court, which is actually on Route 16 in Medford, start at 9 a.m. There is no set time for LaCourt’s, Guyotte said.

LaCourt did not seek reelection in April after seven years on the board. She’s still a current Town Meeting member from Precinct 15.

Well, what puzzles me is this. If town meeting members can vote to regulate stuff, like the leaf blower issue, what do we need the selectmen for?

Well Saul if we don't have selectmen we wouldn't have those wonderful projects like the Symmes mess, or the Brighams site . Who will get the money? See Senator Diane Wilkerson , also See Chuck Turner Boston City Counselor which is the same as a selectmen... I hope the Judge throws the book at her and Mr LaCourt.

As punishment they should be forced to rake leaves in the fall without the use of a gas leaf blower, scoop poop at the dog park, direct traffic on Mill Street at rush hour and be forced to travel Mass Avenue repeatedly from Arlington Center to the Cambridge Line! If that punishment is good enough for everyone else so be it !
