A Guide to Arlington Town Day 2012

The Town Day forecast, brochure and more.

This weekend, Arlington will celebrate Town Day, a two-day extravaganza of music, food and family entertainment.

Here are the basics:

Town Night is Friday, Sept. 14. It gets underway at 5 p.m. at , and it’ll include entertainment, children’s activities, food and fireworks at dusk.

Town Day is Saturday, Sept. 15. It goes from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Arlington Center (on Massachusetts Avenue, from Pleasant Street to Mill Street), and it’ll include booths offering craft exhibits, bake sales, educational displays, raffles, club membership information, games, food vendors and/or other such “fair-type” activities.

Town Night: It should be clear Friday night, according to the National Weather Service. There is a chance of showers, but not until after 4 a.m. Temperatures are expected to get down to the low 50s.

Town Day: On Saturday, it should be sunny with temperatures reaching the low 70s. There is a chance of showers, but mainly before 7 a.m.

The Walter V. Moynihan Town Day Run

The Walter V. Moynihan Town Day Run will go off at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at . The 2.7-mile race includes a stretch of the Minuteman bike path. Trophies will be awarded to the top male and female finishers in multiple divisions. Pre-registration ($15) is preferred, but you can also register the day of, from 7 to 8 p.m. Proceeds benefit Arlington Youth Activities.
