5 Things to Do This Weekend

Rock out at the Regent, roll up your sleeves at Spy Pond Park or experience the best of Arlington art.

Spy Pond Work and Play Day

Grab your shovels and gloves and come out to help beautify one of Arlington's most beloved parks at the Spy Pond Work and Play Day on Saturday from 1-4 p.m.  Teens can earn service credits and kids over the age of 8 are welcome to come join the gardening project or play on the playground.

Peirce School 5K

Whether you're a runner or cheerleader, you can experience the excitement of the Peirce School 5K. Registration begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday and the race begins at 9. Runners, walkers and joggers of all ages are welcome to participate.

Regent Theatre Productions

At 8 p.m. on Saturday the Regent Theatre will be rocking generations with rockers Slip Kid as they pay tribute to the Who. For more information, check out our preview of the event here.

The Regent Theatre will be featuring a production of the family favorite The Princess and the Pea starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The adaptation combines screwball comedy and old Hollywood glamour, paying homage to film greats Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant through the aptly named characters. The show promises to be entertaining for kids as well as parents. Tickets are $10.

Arlington Arts Center Open Studios

The Arlington Center for the Arts will have its studio open both Saturday and Sunday from 12-5 p.m. There will be pottery, blown glass, collage, fiber arts, handcrafted paper and books, jewelry, mosaic, mixed media, oil painting, photography, sculpture, sumi-e brush
painting, watercolor, woodcuts, wood
turning, and live music.
