Seeking Local Arts Heroes - Arlington Center for the Arts Accepting Nominations for 2012 Alan McClennen Community Arts Award

The Arlington Center for the Arts invites nominations for the 6th annual Alan McClennen Community Arts Award, presented annually to an individual or group who brings to life ACA’s mission of “transforming lives and building community through the arts.”

Background of the Award:  The Arlington Center for the Arts established The Alan McClennen Community Arts Award in 2007 to honor a local individual or group who brings to life ACA’s mission of “transforming lives and building community through the arts.”   The award is named for former Arlington Town Planner Alan McClennen, who was a driving force behind the creation of the Arlington Center for the Arts in 1988, which is now a true community gem, offering unsurpassed arts education and programming to Arlington and surrounding communities.

Nomination Process:  Nomination forms are available online on the Arlington Center for the Arts website, www.acarts.org, and in the office at 41 Foster Street, Arlington.  Nominations must be submitted no later than Friday, October 19.  The ACA Board of Directors, with input from the ACA staff, will review nominations and select the winner for the 2012 award.

Award Presentation: The McClennen Community Arts Award will be presented on Friday, November 30 at the Arlington Center for the Arts, as part of the festivities of the ACA Annual Meeting and Members’ Show Opening Reception.
