One-Side Street Parking Begins in East Arlington Tomorrow
Due to excessive snow and narrow roads, a one-side-of-street parking restriction is in place for East Arlington starting Friday, January 28th. These restrictions are proposed for your safety to allow adequate passage for public safety vehicles. The parking restriction covers East Arlington from Pleasant and Medford streets east to Route 16/Cambridge line. Please pass along this information to your neighbors. The rules are:
- For one-way streets, parking is allowed on the right-hand side, unless street is already posted for one-side only parking. On those streets, continue to park on one-side as posted.
- For all other roads, parking is allowed on the odd-numbered side of the street, unless otherwise posted. The Town will be posting signs on the following roads for even-numbered sides of streets: Fremont, Gardner, and Warren streets.
- Main roads exempt from the one-side parking restriction are Mass. Ave, Broadway, Medford Street (between Mass Ave and Warren), Pleasant Street, River Street, Bates Road and Orvis Road. All other posted parking rules apply.
- These East Arlington parking restrictions will be in place until further notice. Any vehicles not adhering to these restrictions are subject to ticketing and towing.
At this time, one-side parking is only being enforced in East Arlington. However, the Town is strongly encouraging all residents town-wide to refrain from on-street parking. If you must park in the street, be cognizant of where your car is parked with respect to other cars and passage on the road. Seconds count in an emergency and your cooperation in parking your car responsibly helps keep you and your neighbors safe.
