Whether this dog has a micro chip or not is not my issue. Dogs and cats should all have the vet insert the chip, which identifies who owns the animal. Animal control personnel and veterinarians can then track a stray back to its owners. The cost is minimal--and the peace of mind is enormous.

Yes, Malcolm, we agree on the importance of a microchip for pets. This dog, however, has been lost for nearly a year after being attacked by another dog. She ran away in fear and has been roaming all these months unable to make her way home. And she quickly became fearful of humans, so she doesn't travel during busy times usually. She's been seen recently in Arlington and may be traveling along the Alewife Brook. PLEASE keep word going and call 781-334-8364 if you see her. We need everyone's help. Thank you.
