About 150 people, many of them residents of the Brookhaven Retirement Center in Lexington, attended the annual holiday concert performed at the Brookhaven Retirement Center by the Arlington Public Schools’ Elementary Chamber Orchestra and Townwide Treble Chorus.

The concert took place Monday, Dec. 10. The popular annual event featured lyrical renditions by the chorus of the traditional folk song “Zum Gali Gali,” “Velvet Shoes” and “Children Go Where I Send Thee.” They performed under the direction of Arlington Public Schools Music Teacher Jenna Havelin.

The Elementary Chamber Orchestra played Vivaldi’s “Concerto in D,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Jesse Polka” under the direction of Conductor Jing-Huey Wei, who is the Director of the String Instrument Program for the Arlington Public Schools. The chorus and orchestra then joined together for a series of holiday songs including “Jingle Bells,” “Hanukkah Holiday,” and more that saw most members of the audience tapping their feet and singing along.
