Arlington Catholic High School Senior Jia Liang has been named a National Merit Finalist!

Three percent of the 1.5 million students who take the PSAT/NMSQT are recognized as Commended Students. Of all those Commended Students, 30 percent are recognized as National Merit Finalists. This is an honor for both Jia and Arlington Catholic High School.

Jia lives in Malden and joins the AC community from Linden Middle School. She has consistently proven to be a remarkable student who has many interests and talents. In her free time, she enjoys art and piano; she has been taking art lessons for 5 years and piano lessons since she was eight years old. Jia is very active at ACHS; she is involved in choir, art club, the AC science team, yearbook, and photography club. Jia is quite accomplished and won the following awards: Harvard Book Prize, First Honors, National Honor Society, and Spanish Honors Society.  Jia has also been a Student of the Quarter at Arlington Catholic.

When asked what her favorite subject is and why she responded, “AP Psychology, because I feel it is very applicable to our daily lives.”  Her future plans are to attend a college in New England, where she can get a degree in either psychology or legal studies.
